We know there are many great organizations and worthwhile causes out there. Plus, we realize you have a choice when it comes to which ones you support. We hope you will consider giving to Volunteer Houston and here are a few reasons to support us.

  • All encompassing support: Volunteer Houston supports the whole community – individuals and groups, youth, families and seniors, who want an opportunity to serve. And, we help the organizations that need volunteers to meet critical needs and enhance your neighborhood and our region.
  • Our history: Volunteer Houston is not a “fly-by-night” organization. For 35 years, since 1974, we have been the primary resource in our area for volunteer information and referral. We are affiliated with the national network of volunteer centers through the Points of Light Foundation and the Hands On Network.
  • Disaster response: In times of disaster, Volunteer Houston is on the front lines, recruiting, referring and organizing the unaffiliated, spontaneous volunteers who step forward to help when needed. City and County officials count on Volunteer Houston to fill a special need.
  • Wide spread services: Three offices of Volunteer Houston serve the region. The main office is located in the Upper Kirby District. Our Sugarland office serves Fort Bend County. The Clearlake office serves the Bay Area, including Galveston.
  • One organization – many causes: We serve organizations of all sizes and interests. Volunteers are sent to city, county and state agencies, such as child protective services, safety programs, health programs, parks and recreation centers, to name a few. We send volunteers to help with education, environmental cleanup, child health, hospice, art and theater, animal welfare, neighborhood improvement, rehabilitation, job training and … You get the idea – we serve all these needs by providing the volunteer hands to carry out the work.
  • Our need: Volunteer Houston is a private nonprofit organization. We receive no city, state or federal funding. We are not a United Way agency. Some of our programs are fee-based to cover specific services. We rely on special events and donations from corporations, foundations and individuals to help us maintain the level of services the community expects. We need YOUR help!

Volunteer Houston is a 501(c)(3) public charity, IRS Tax ID 23-7382611. All donations are tax deductible as allowed by law.
