6. Bayou Preservation Association To protect and restore the richness and diversity of Houston-area waterways through activism, advocacy, collaboration, and education. Internship: Water Quality Investigator- The intern will serve as a member of a team to conduct investigative water sampling in Houston-area bayous upstream of locations with identified high fecal indicator bacteria. Sampling will help determine sources that are responsible for the bacteria indicators. This sampling and analysis will be made available to stakeholder groups responsible for implementing bacteria reduction plans and will assist in the refinement of these plans.

7. Breakthrough Houston To prepare students who possess high academic potential but have limited educational resources for competitive high schools and college admission. In addition, we encourage talented high school and college students to consider careers in education. Internship: Special Events Intern-The intern will be responsible for coordinating all Breakthrough Houston special events for eight weeks during the summer. Internship: Annual Gifts Assistant- The Rose internship allows the intern to plan and implement a fundraising event with a zero budget for 1,000+ people, with a goal of raising $150,000. During the eight-week period, the intern will experience all aspects of organizing a fundraising event, focusing on the management of 150+ volunteers; managing the event financials; and preparing thank you letters for donors and volunteers after the event.
