Hands
On Houston
Hands On Houston is the newest program of Volunteer Houston. These projects are
fun and flexible “hands on” projects in the Houston area that anyone can join.
The projects can usually be done in a day, during the evenings or on the
weekends.
Hands On Network is a national organization and with its 58 affiliates have
established collaborative partnerships with more than 12,000 nonprofits, schools
and other community organizations to create real change through meaningful
volunteer action.
Each month Hands On Houston will often numerous community service projects
addressing issues such as the environment, hunger, homelessness, family service,
children/teens, seniors, and people with disabilities. The online database
equips you with a resource to aid you in becoming involved in the community and
is the first step in the right volunteer position.
Each project needs a project leader to manage the project. In most cases Project
Leaders are volunteers who take the extra step and help make our programs
possible. Project Leaders may be individuals who have an interest in a
particular cause or from the nonprofit organization hosting the event.
